Sean “Diddy” Combs’ scheduled release from federal prison has been moved forward again, with the music mogul now expected to be released on February 5, 2028.

According to information from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Combs is currently scheduled to leave the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, on that date.

His previous release date had been listed as February 20, 2028, meaning the latest adjustment brings his expected release forward by more than two weeks. Combs was convicted by a jury at his 2025 federal trial on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.

During the trial, prosecutors accused Combs of organising sexual encounters referred to as “freak offs,” during which they alleged he would watch and record his girlfriends having sex with male escorts, often in hotel rooms. However, the jury acquitted Combs of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.

In October 2025, a judge sentenced Combs to four years and two months in federal prison, with his sentence being served at FCI Fort Dix. Combs’ time in custody has also included disciplinary issues. He was involved in a widely reported altercation with another inmate and was subsequently placed in solitary confinement for a brief period.

His projected release date has been adjusted several times. An earlier projection had placed his release in June 2028 before it was subsequently moved to January and later pushed back to February 20 following the prison altercation. The latest Bureau of Prisons information now lists February 5, 2028, as his projected release date, although such dates remain subject to further adjustment.
