Argentina defeated Switzerland 3-1 in extra time to advance to the World Cup semifinal and face England, avoiding yet another scare.

Alexis Mac Allister scored the first goal in the 10th minute to give Argentina the lead, before Dan Ndoye equalised for the Swiss in the 67th minute.

Switzerland controlled the game in terms of ball possession and chances created, but a red card to Breel Embolo in the 72nd minute gave Argentina the edge.
