2027: Setback for APC as hundreds of party members decamp to NDC
The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kano State suffered a major setback on Saturday following the defection of several members to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.
The NDC senatorial candidate for Kano South, Dr Kassim Ibrahim Bataiya, received the defectors in Takai Local Government Area of the state.
DAILY POST reports that there has been a series of defections from the ruling party to the NDC in Kano State since former governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, emerged vice presidential candidate of the NDC.
There are also reports of some politicians dumping Kwankwaso’s camp for the ruling party as the 2027 campaign gets intense in the state.
Experts had predicted a tough election in Kano State in 2027 as Kwankwaso and his estranged political godson, Governor Kabir Yusuf, battle for supremacy.
