2027: Nsukka zone deserves better — ADC flays APC over re-election campaign
The Enugu State chapter of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has knocked the ruling party in the state, the All Progressives Congress, APC, for commencing its re-election campaign in Nsukka Zone of the state.
DAILY POST reports that the APC, earlier this week, started its campaign for the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Tinubu in Enugu North Senatorial District (Nsukka Zone).
However, in a statement issued on Saturday by ADC Media, the party called on the people of the area not to be deceived.
The ADC accused the APC of neglecting the people of Nsukka and questioned why it flagged off its campaign in the area.
The opposition party said whereas the APC government in the state started work in Governor Mbah’s Owo community, Nsukka was only remembered for campaign activities.
“For three years and three months in office, he has not completed even one kilometre of road in the entire Enugu North Senatorial Zone.
“We are not even talking about broken promises.
“We are talking about total neglect and disregard for six Local Government Areas.”
The ADC alleged that while the present government claimed it had completed 1,000 kilometres of roads across the state, the roads were already failing.
“Not even one kilometre of those roads is in Enugu North. The only project he completed is demolishing Ogige Market in Nsukka.
“On appointments, he gave nothing to Enugu North except the statutory commissioner slots.
“This year, he remembered to appoint a few Nsukka people as SAs, SSAs and SPAs — all on politics and mobilisation.
“Even clearing the underground gutters at Ugwuoye Junction to stop perennial flooding has become a mission impossible for this government.
“But the moment the campaign ban was lifted, he rushed to Nsukka.
“Enugu North deserves better than to be used and dumped,” it said, declaring that the APC sees Nsukka as useful only during elections only to be dumped after victory.
