Police arrest two over alleged theft of two cows in Kebbi
The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested two people over the alleged theft of two cows in Bunza Local Government Area of the state.
The command disclosed this in a statement issued by its spokesperson, SP Bashir Usman, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
According to the statement, the suspects were arrested after the police received information from members of the public that the cows were being taken to Bunza market.
The police said a preliminary investigation showed that the cows were allegedly stolen from Ganten Tudu in Bagudu Local Government Area before being brought to Bunza.
The owner of the cows was contacted and later identified them as his property.
The police said the recovered cows had been returned to their owner, while the investigation was continuing to identify and apprehend other people who may have been involved in the alleged theft.
