Hisbah arrests man over alleged illicit relationship with former wife

The Hisbah Command in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State has arrested a man over allegations of maintaining an illicit relationship with his former wife, who is now married to another man.

The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued by the agency’s spokesperson, M. Maidoki.

According to the statement, the woman reportedly left her matrimonial home after informing her current husband that she was going to collect her mobile phone, which had been taken to a charging point.

The statement said she subsequently met the suspect at a secluded location, raising suspicions that prompted the intervention of the Hisbah authorities.

The agency said investigations conducted under the supervision of the Dutsinma Hisbah Commander, Malam Shafiu Ibrahim, established that the suspect was the woman’s former husband.

The circumstances surrounding the meeting are being investigated by the authorities.
