Kano: Mammoth crowd as political heavyweights join APC, TSG unveils campaign

Leading politicians belonging to several political parties in Kano have dumped their parties and were received into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during the unveiling of Tinubu Support Groups (TSG) in the state.

The grand event which took place on Saturday at the Sani Abacha Stadium, located at Kofar Mata in Kano metropolis, was attended by a mammoth crowd.

The event also attracted APC Governors, Senators, House of Representatives Members and other politicians in the state.

The support groups were inaugurated to campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the oncoming 2027 general election.

Some of the high profile politicians that defected to the APC include Senator Rufai Sani Hanga, Mas’ud Eljibril Doguwa and Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya.

Furthermore, among those received by the ruling party from other political parties include, Ali Datti Yako, Chairman of NNPP, Badaru Umar, NDC state Deputy Chairman, Yusuf Bello Danbatta, former Speaker of the Kano state House of Assembly and Isyaku Ali Danja, former Chairman of Ngogo local government area.

Others include Senator Baraka Sani, former PDP deputy governorship candidate and former NNPP Senatorial candidate, Abdulmajid Dauda Dandawaki, among others.

The defectors joined the APC along with their supporters and loyalists in their thousands, seen wearing labelled attires.

Blueprint.ng reports that the crowd was massive that supporters spread beyond the capacity of the stadium to surrounding areas including Kantin Kwari Market, Kofar Mata, Kurmi Market and IBB Way in Kano.

The APC leadership in the state welcomed new members, describing their decision to join the party as a significant boost to its efforts to consolidate political unity and expand its grassroot support across Kano and Nigeria.

Members of the party were called upon to remain united and accomodate new entrants as preparation intensify for the 2027 general election.
