The Lagos state deputy governor, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, has called for unity among religious and regional leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He urged Nigerians to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure continuity in governance.

Hamzat said this during the official turbaning of prominent elder statesman Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi (OON) as the Baba Adinni of Yoruba Land, at a grand ceremony held at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos.

The event, organised by the Council of Islamic Preachers also saw Chief Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, installed as the Iya Adinni of Yoruba Land.

Addressing the gathering of political stakeholders, traditional rulers, and religious leaders, Dr. Hamzat stated  that regional cohesion is vital for national stability as the country approaches the next election cycle.

He added that President Tinubu’s administration has laid a solid foundation for developmental projects, asserting that re-electing the president in 2027 is necessary to maintain policy consistency and prevent political disruption.

Speaking on the merits of the newly installed Islamic leader, the chairman of the Planning Committee, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, stated that Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi eminently deserves the prestigious title, noting that the honour aligns with activities celebrating Prince Olusi’s 90th birthday.
