2027: ADC vows to dislodge APC in Niger, drums support for Kpautagi
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Niger State has vowed to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 governorship election, urging residents to support its candidate, Dr Mohammed Kpautagi.
The party’s state chairman, El Amin El Waziri, made the declaration on Monday during Kpautagi’s visit to his community in Mokwa Local Government Area as part of a two-day tour of his constituency and parts of Zone A.
El Waziri said the party was seeking a change of government because of what he described as the hardship Nigerians were experiencing under the APC administration.
He urged Gwari, Hausa and Nupe residents of Kpautagi to remain united and support the ADC in the 2027 elections.
“We are not in the village to campaign for Kpautagi but have come to appreciate together with the elders of the community,” he said.
The chairman also urged residents to support the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2027 election.
Earlier, the ADC Zonal Chairman, Gimba Tswatagi, described Kpautagi as a disciplined grassroots politician capable of providing leadership that would address the needs of the people.
His running mate, Mamman Musa, who spoke in Gwari, appreciated the community’s traditional and religious leaders for sustaining peaceful coexistence among residents.
He also urged Gwari residents to support the development of the community and Kpautagi’s governorship ambition.
The Director-General of the campaign, Prof. Rabiu Bello Nasko, read a request from the Kpautagi New Market Association seeking additional stores, solar lighting and other facilities for the market.
The ADC delegation also visited Edati and Lavun local government areas, where it paid courtesy visits to the the Bima of Enagi and Ezonuwon of Kutigi
