Woman Seeks Refund After Erroneous N1.64m Transfer To Pastor Jerry’s Church
A woman identified as Okpara Sandra has appealed to Pastor Jerry Eze’s church to refund N1,640,200 she alleged was mistakenly transferred to the church’s account.
In a video circulating online, Sandra said the money did not belong to her and that the people who owned it had been demanding its return.
“So I made an erroneous transfer of N1,640,200. I can’t lie because it’s a church. Please, I need the money back. It’s not an offering.
“I mistakenly sent it into Pastor Jerry Eze’s church account. The money doesn’t belong to me, the people who own it are calling me and I don’t know where to get it from.
“I am a single mum of two, I don’t have a husband, Please help me and put the money back.”
Reacting to the viral video, Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International team on Saturday said it had not received any direct complaint from Sandra before her video surfaced online.
The church, through its official Instagram handle, @streamsofjoyinternational, said it routinely handles reports involving erroneous transactions through a verification process.
It added that its team had contacted Sandra using the phone number provided in the video to investigate her claim and determine whether the transfer was indeed made in error.
The statement reads, “We have become aware of this claim through the video circulating online.
“Before its publication, we had not received any call, email, direct message or formal complaint from the individual regarding the alleged erroneous transfer.
”Streams of Joy routinely receives and resolves reports of erroneous transactions through the appropriate verification process.
“In any case, we have called her to investigate further using the number in the video. If all her claims are valid, we will do the needful.
”Our team remains available and committed to addressing all genuine concerns transparently and responsibly.”
