Why we use diesel-powered generators at APM rally in Lekan Salami Stadium -Makinde

The presidential candidate of Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Governor Seyi Makinde, Monday, said the federal government has failed to fix Nigeria’s electricity within his first four years in office as promised.

Makinde stated this at the Boye Nation/JAF Movement Mega Concert held at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, during which the political structure of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, led by his former personal assistant, Ajiboye Akande Sangogade, formally moved from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the APM.

Responding to criticism of his administration using diesel-powered generators to illuminate some streetlights in the state, the APM presidential candidate said APC governorship candidate in Oyo state should remember the promise allegedly made by President Tinubu to fix Nigeria’s electricity within his first four years in office.

“Tell them their father and boss was the one who said if he doesn’t fix the light all over Nigeria within his first four years, no one should vote for him again.

“If the electricity challenge in the country had been resolved as promised, this government would not have needed to rely on diesel-powered generators to operate streetlights.”

The APM presidential candidate pointed out that the criticism of his administration’s use of generators should therefore be considered against the wider electricity challenge facing the country.

Speaking further on his professional background, Gov Makinde said his engineering qualification had been recognised by the Nigerian Society of Engineers, where he said he is a Fellow.

On the APM governorship candidate in Oyo state, Hon Bimbo Adekanmbi, the APM Presidential candidate described  him as a graduate and professional who is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
