Tourism expert applauds Uba Sani on appointment of new aides

 Renowned tourism consultant and hospitality industry expert, Dr. Tobi Bernard Thomas, has commended the Kaduna state governor, Senator Uba Sani, for the recent appointment of new aides, describing the move as an opportunity to strengthen governance and bring fresh expertise into the administration.

 Dr. Thomas said the appointments, if effectively deployed, could further enhance the administration’s capacity to boost the development of the state and drive policies capable of improving the welfare and economic prospects of the people of Kaduna state.

He urged the governor to take a further step by establishing a Kaduna State Tourism Board Corporation (KTB Corporation), which he described as a strategic institution capable of unlocking the enormous tourism and hospitality potential of the state.

 He said Kaduna possesses significant tourism assets, including its rich cultural heritage, historical sites, natural landscapes, festivals and diverse hospitality offerings, which could be better developed and promoted through a dedicated and professionally managed tourism commission.

“Kaduna has tremendous potential in tourism, but we need an institutional framework that can properly coordinate, regulate, promote and develop the sector.

“The establishment of a Kaduna State Tourism Commission will provide the necessary structure for sustainable tourism development,” he said.

Thomas noted that a well-positioned tourism sector could contribute significantly to the state’s internally generated revenue, attract private-sector investment, create employment opportunities for young people and women, support local businesses and strengthen Kaduna’s position as a major tourism destination in Nigeria.
