Suspected k!ller of UNIBEN student transfered to another Anambra prison after he was found initiating fellow inmates into cultism

A suspect, Kingsley Ogbonnaya, who is standing trial for the 2020 m8rder of a University of Benin undergraduate, Chinenye Promise Nwoye, has reportedly been transferred from Awka to Ekwulobia correctional facility after he was found initiating fellow inmates into his cult group, among other unruly behaviors in the Awka facility.
According to the Anambra State Broadcasting Service (ABS), though the courts are presently on vacation, the suspect’s transfer had stalled prosecution, and will make his production for trial in court in Awka more capital intensive.
“The last I went to Ekwulobia …, I saw him there. He is still there. And this movement has stalled the trial in court,” a reliable source informed ABS.
The source hinted that if the m8rder suspect remains troublesome, there is a possibility that he would be moved to another state.
Confirming the development, the Anambra State Command’s Public Relations Officer, Nigerian Correctional Services, Francis Ekezie said the suspect was transferred “on administrative proceedings”, and assured that he will be produced in court for the continuation of his trial whenever he is needed.
