SSANIP demands implementation of agreement with FG

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP) has announced the successful conclusion of its renegotiation with the federal government.

The union noted that after a week of intensive deliberations, both parties finalised and signed the renegotiated agreement.

In a statement signed by the national president of the union Comrade Adebanjo Ogunsipe on Friday, the association commended its members nationwide for their patience, maturity and unwavering support throughout the negotiation process.

Philips, who led the union’s delegation, also expressed appreciation to the federal government for its commitment to the welfare of senior staff in polytechnics and colleges of technology, particularly through the constitution of the renegotiation committee.

He further commended members of the Yayale Ahmed Committee for their professionalism and dedication throughout the discussions, adding that their approach contributed to fostering industrial harmony.

While describing the conclusion of the renegotiation as a “significant milestone,” he noted that the agreement must now be implemented without delay.

“This victory belongs to all of us,” Philips said, urging the federal government to commence the execution of all aspects of the agreement immediately.

The union’s national executive council assured its members that it would closely monitor the implementation process and keep them informed of developments.

It also reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with the government to promote the growth, stability and development of the polytechnic sector.
