Rufai Oseni urges President Tinubu to be ?cautious? with Wike over Atiku, Obi remark

Arise Television anchor, Rufai Oseni has cautioned President Bola Tinubu to remain mindful in his political alliance with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, warning that the former Rivers State governor could allegedly publicly expose details of their political dealings should their relationship deteriorate.
Oseni’s remarks came during a broadcast of The Morning Show following a media chat in Port Harcourt where Wike asserted that he would face political victimization from opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, if President Tinubu fails to secure a second term in 2027.
Responding to Wike’s statements, Oseni questioned why the FCT Minister expressed anxiety over potential retribution if he felt confident in his past political actions. Oseni noted Wike’s previous moves as governor to restrict Atiku’s campaign activities in Rivers State during the 2023 cycle, as well as lingering controversies regarding election tally reporting in the state.

“Why is Mr. Wike afraid today? Why is he afraid that if Atiku Abubakar gets in, he’s going to be witch-hunted?” Oseni said.

“Is it because he used his high-handedness as governor to ensure that Atiku did not campaign in Rivers State? Mr. Wike, why are you scared? If you are proud of your actions, you should not fear a witch hunt.”

“The day he falls out with President Tinubu, this Wike will talk. It is the height of delusion for President Tinubu to think that whatever agreement he has with Wike, if they are no longer together, Wike will not talk.”
