A Nigerian woman, Fatsuma Magaji Musa, has said she advised her daughters to always be prepared for their husband to marry more wives.

According to her, while most women prefer monogamy, many men are drawn to polygyny and will take another bride at the slightest opportunity.

She believe that accepting this reality from the start makes life much easier.

She added that other women should also take heed her advice.

“Many women prefer to be the only wife, ironically many men are obsessed with polygyny,” she wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

“At the slightest opportunity, such men would take in another bride. Accepting the reality from both ends makes life easier.

“Toh Amma, one side always ends up more defeated, on refusal to accept these realities. I don’t need to explain further.

“My advise to my daughters kullum is, “ko ki tarar, ko akawo maki ita”. The fact is, what will be, will. Prepare your mind that there are always three slots in your marriage,  to be occupied by other women, aside yours.

“Infact, yours ‘din ma, there is no guarantee it’s a permanent position. Kuyi hakuri but that’s the situation.

“Your life is yours, never allow any woman or man take your Iman, sanity and jannah away from you.

“You can consider yourself my daughters and heed to this advice as well. Kinji,?”
