Outrage as man assaults 3-year-old stepdaughter while her mother does nothing

A man has been accused of assaulting his 3-year-old stepdaughter. 
According to online reports, the child’s mother, who also allegedly suffers physical abuse from her husband, keeps quiet while her husband abuses her child in their home in Gberigbe Ikorodu, Lagos. 
Neighbours finally intervened during the latest assault and slammed the mother for not protecting her daughter. 
Video shared online shows neighbours berating the mother while the mother screams back at them. The neighbours then carry the child out while the mother continues screaming at them. 
 

A photo of the child shows her with a swollen face and scratches which she sustained during the assault. 
 

According to reports, the husband is now on the run. 
Meanwhile, the mother of the child has been arrested.

Look how she allowed her husband beat up her 3 year old daughter, I heard that’s how he beats her all the time for no reason or any slight mistake and she doesn’t do anything about it.
