Nigeria’s diplomatic presence in Turkey has entered a new phase as a former Kebbi state governor, Sa’idu Dakingari, now the Ambassador and Plenipotentiary to that country, presented his Letters of Credence to President Erdogan of the Republic of Türkiye in Ankara.

This marks the formal commencement of his duty as Nigeria’s top diplomat in Turkey, with a mandate to strengthen bilateral relations on trade, education, and strategic partnership between the two nations.

A retired Customs Officer, Ambassador Dakingari, who was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, served as governor of Kebbi state from 2007 to 2015.

Officials of the Embassy of Nigeria in Ankara welcomed and accompanied him to the Presidential Palace for the presentation of his credentials to the Turkish leader on Friday.
