NAWOJ Zone D congratulates  Chairman NUJ Plateau Ayuku Pwaspo on re-election

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Zone D,  has congratulated the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council, Comrade Ayuku Pwaspo, on her re-election for a second term in office.

The Zone in a press statement signed by the NAWOJ Vice President, Mrs Chizoba Ogbeche, read: “The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Zone D,  heartily congratulates Comrade Ayuku Pwaspo on her  well-deserved re-election as  Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council, for another three-year tenure.

“Her victory is a clear reflection of the confidence, trust and respect members of the council have in her leadership as well as a strong testimony to the hard work, resilience, and purposeful leadership she demonstrated in her first term.

“The Zone also applaudes other members of NAWOJ in the new executive including the Council Secretary, Mary Domtur; and the Treasurer, Lyop Pam; who were re-elected; as well as the Christy Tamai, who was elected as the new Financial Secretary for the council.

“The unprecedented dominance of women journalists at the helm of affairs in the Council, particularly in key leadership positions, is a significant victory for the Zone and a remarkable milestone in the ongoing advocacy for gender representation and inclusion.

“This development not only demonstrates growing confidence in the leadership capacity of women journalists but also contributes significantly to enhancing women’s visibility, participation and influence in media leadership.

“NAWOJ Zone D wishes her a new tenure marked by greater achievements, unity, courage and impactful representation of the interests and welfare of Council members.
