Kwali chair celebrates Council at 30, renews commitment to its development
The chairman of Kwali area council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Daniel Nuhu Kwali, on Friday expressed commitment to the development of the Council.
He said this on the occasion to mark the 30th anniversary of the creation of the area council in Kwali, where he also marked his administration’s 100 days in office.
The occasion also coincided with Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary.
“The events provided opportunities for reflection on the history of the people, recognise the progress recorded over the years, and renew collective commitment to the work ahead,” he said.
Kwali noted that since the Council was created, the area had been led by successive administrations that made vital contributions to its development.
According to him, within the short period he assumed office, his administration had directed attention to provision of critical infrastructures, including roads, bridges, electricity, healthcare, water supply, education, community lighting, youth development, sports, and other essential community development services.
The significance of the first 100 days, he said, “goes beyond projects and statistics,” adding: “It is about laying the foundation for a culture of responsive governance, one that listens to the people, identifies pressing needs within communities, and takes practical steps towards addressing them.”
He added, “As Nigeria celebrates 66 years of independence, the occasion also serves as a reminder of the enduring importance of unity, resilience, service, patriotism, and our collective responsibility to build a stronger and better future for generations to come.”
