I Am Not Open To People Calling Me ‘Iya Yard’ -Bidemi Kosoko

Popular Nigerian actress and producer, Bidemi Kosoko opened up about her marriage in an interview with Oyinmomo TV. She discussed how her husband became a shepherd which automatically made her ‘Iya Yard’ but not willing to accept the name.

When Bidemi was asked about the responsibility that comes with marriage. She said her husband becoming a shepherd is a huge responsibility for her because he was not a shepherd before they got married.

Afterwards, people started calling her ‘Iya Yard.’ To her, years back, those called Iya Yard lived around the church and she is not open to such lifestyle. Things have changed, the world is now more civilized, she said.

Bidemi also revealed that she doesn’t really attend her husband’s church but her father in- law’s church because it is closer to the house. Moreover her husband doesn’t force her to do anything.

In her words, “I don’t really attend my husband’s church but my father in-law’s church because it is closer to the house and moreover, that is where I started as a celestial.

“My husband does not force me to do anything. It is not mandatory for me to do certain things despite him being a shepherd because I did not marry him as a shepherd.

“Before my husband became a shepherd, I initially declined even though I had observed certain attributes about him. I didn’t want to become Iya Yard because I’m still young and I was wondering how we ended up here. But I eventually supported him based on what I had also observed before. It is his calling, we have to face it…....
