Gombe Governor Appoints 19 New Permanent Secretaries
Gombe State Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya has approved the appointment of 19 permanent secretaries to strengthen the state’s civil service and enhance administrative efficiency.
The announcement, conveyed by the Head of Service, Prof. Mu’azu Shehu, noted that the appointments were necessary due to vacancies created by the restructuring of ministries and a shortage of permanent secretaries.
Shehu explained that the officers were selected from 11 local government areas, with attention to geographical balance, professional competence, and ministry-specific needs.
He emphasized that the appointees were chosen based on proven records of performance, clean service histories, and demonstrated commitment to public service.
“The officers were carefully assessed and found suitable to occupy the positions, having acquired relevant experience and demonstrated professionalism in their respective areas,” Shehu stated.
Governor Yahaya urged the new permanent secretaries to bring their expertise and dedication to bear on their new roles, contributing to his administration’s vision of building a responsive, efficient, and results-driven civil service.
The appointments take immediate effect.
