
The executive chairman of Kuje area council, Hon. Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo, has inaugurated a five-man Chieftaincy Matters Committee to examine and make recommendations on the lingering chieftaincy dispute in Gwargwada chiefdom.
The chairman also inaugurated a 13-man Kuje Area Council Scholarship Committee charged with developing a transparent, credible and merit-based scholarship process.
The scholarship committee is expected to identify and screen deserving indigent but brilliant students across the council’s 10 political wards.
He charged members to ensure fairness, transparency and accountability throughout the exercise.
He added that the scholarship programme would be guided by the principles of merit, equity and integrity, addin: “No favouritism, no politics, only merit.”
Hon. Shekwolo urged members of both committees to discharge their responsibilities diligently and in the overall interest of the people of Kuje area council.
