Adamawa court sentences two notorious Shila Boys to 5 years imprisonment each

A Chief Magistrate Court 2 sitting in Yola, Adamawa State, has convicted and sentenced two notorious Shila boys to 5 years imprisonment each without option of fine.

The spokesperson for the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday after securing the conviction.

The Court presided over by Chief Magistrate M. A. Adamu, sentenced Aminu Adamu (aka Gawa) and Umar Muktar (aka Dan Basi) both of Shinko, Yola North LGA.

They were arraigned before the Court by the Adamawa State Police Command represented by Inspector Adamu Umar.

Earlier, while arraigning the convicts, the Police prosecutor told the Court that the convicts conspired with others now at large and attacked Mohamed Ali of Mohamed Mustafa Way, Jimeta-Yola.

According to the prosecutor, the convicts armed themselves with dangerous weapons, inflicted serious injuries on various parts of the victim’s body and dispossessed him of his phone valued at N235,000.

On their arraignment, the convicts pleaded guilty when the content of the First Information Report (FIR) was read and interpreted to them in a language they understood.

Thereafter, the prosecutor called an Investigative Police Officer, Insp. Bawa Mohamed Abubakar, who corroborated the plea of the convicts, hence the conviction and sentencing.

The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, commends the Court for the judgement and assures members of the public of the Command’s renewed commitment to bringing all Shila criminals to justice.
