2027: PIG predicts landslide victory for Tinubu, Abba in Kano, others

Media analyst, Abdulmalik Suleiman, has said the leadership of Kano state governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has received fresh validation following a new projection by the Political Intelligence Group (PIG), publishers of Politico.ng.
In a statement issued in Lagos, Thursday, Suleiman noted that PIG, in its 2027 election outlook released a fortnight ago, listed Kano among 20 states projected to be won by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said, with over 5.9 million registered voters, Kano has the largest voter population in Nigeria and remains a critical battleground in every presidential election.
According to the projection, President Tinubu is poised to carry Kano, described as one of the most decisive states in Nigeria’s presidential election.
“Political observers say the prediction reflects Governor Yusuf’s inclusive governance and strong grassroots mobilization across the state’s 44 local government areas,” Suleiman stated.
He added that Governor Yusuf’s achievements in office so far have earned him accolades across party lines, with stakeholders describing him as a godly and humble leader who cares for all citizens, not only members of his party, the APC, but also those in other political parties.
“Governor Yusuf has shown that leadership is about service to all,” Suleiman quoted a senior party chieftain in Kano as saying. “His projects, empowerment programmes, and people focused policies cut across party affiliations. That is why he is respected beyond APC,” he said.
The analyst said the governor has recorded significant strides in key sectors, delivering tangible results in road construction, education, security, environmental management, and urban renewal.
Suleiman further noted that one area that stands the governor out is transparency and accountability.
On the 2027 outlook, Suleiman said residents believe the mood on the ground favours continuity.
“An average Kano man believes in Abba’s continuity more than changing a winning team, and that is what will help President Tinubu win Kano easily, as we saw in the recent defection rally,” he said, quoting a community leader in Kano Municipal Council.
