Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has pledged the state’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, saying federal interventions in security, education, healthcare and infrastructure have strengthened residents’ confidence in the administration.

Fielding questions from State House correspondents after a meeting with the President, the governor said Taraba was “100 per cent” behind the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said the people of Taraba state were experiencing the benefits of the President’s support and would reciprocate at the polls.

“You can see that I’m on the ground; we’re in charge. All the intervention, all the support from the President, the people are feeling it, from security to free education to healthcare system to infrastructure,” he said.

He said the Federal Government’s assistance had reassured the people of Taraba of Tinubu’s commitment to their welfare.

“So the people have no doubt, and they’ve been given all the assurance that Mr President is reaching out to them through me, and for that reason, they are going to vote for Mr President. Taraba State is for APC 100 per cent,” he said.

On the purpose of his visit, the governor said he came to welcome Tinubu back and offer condolences over the recent Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State.

He described the incident, which claimed the lives of military personnel and other citizens, as a national tragedy.

“I’m also the leader of the party in my state, so I came to welcome the President home and also to condole with him over the incident of the crash of the Nigerian Air Force plane and also the officers and men and citizens of this country that were involved in the crash,” he said.
