2027 elections: Kaduna APC zone 3 move to strengthen internal organs

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Zone 3 in Kaduna state has begun moves to strengthen its internal organisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, with stakeholders reviewing the party’s preparedness, reconciliation efforts and grassroots mobilisation across the eight Southern Kaduna Local Government Areas (LGAs).

The move followed a strategic stakeholders’ meeting chaired by the Deputy Governor of State, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, in Kaduna.

The meeting brought together APC state chairman, Hon. Atiku Isaac Sankey; deputy governorship candidate, Comrade Jerry Adams; federal and state assembly candidates from the eight Southern Kaduna LGAs, government appointees, local government chairmen, party officials and other stakeholders.

A major focus of the meeting was the need to strengthen cohesion within the party.

The reconciliation committee presented a report on its tour of the zone, including engagements with aggrieved members and efforts to rebuild trust and encourage forgiveness.

The stakeholders also reviewed the preparedness of candidates, who presented updates on their engagements with constituents and outlined plans for grassroots mobilisation across their constituencies.

As part of efforts to strengthen the campaign structure, the meeting resolved to establish a fundraising committee to mobilise resources for the 2027 campaign. The committee will be chaired by Adams.

The stakeholders further resolved to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani and all APC candidates, while committing to communicate the policies, programmes and projects of the APC-led administrations to voters.

They agreed that the campaign should be issue-based and anchored on factual information, while avoiding divisive narratives capable of undermining peace and unity. They also pledged to promote messages centred on peace, development and progress.

Balarabe urged members to work together and place the collective interest above personal considerations, saying unity, discipline and commitment would be critical to the party’s success in the 2027 elections.

She also charged APC candidates to develop clear strategies and concrete plans for their respective constituencies, stressing that the election would provide Southern Kaduna an opportunity to demonstrate its political strength and organisational capacity.

“History will ask us, when the moment came, whether we were wise enough to choose the collective interest over personal interests,” she said.
