2027 elections: Amaza emerges NDC candidate for Askira-Uba, Hawul Reps seat in Borno

Dr Yawutama Emmanuel Amaza has emerged as the candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the House of Representatives seat representing Askira-Uba and Hawul federal constituency of Borno state.

Amaza, in a statement Friday said his name had been included in the final list of candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), describing his emergence as a “victory for youth participation in politics.”

He said the NDC had demonstrated its commitment to youth representation by giving him the opportunity to contest the federal constituency election.

According to him, his candidacy would test the resolve of young people to take an active role in politics and leadership politics.

“The youth are not too young to run, contest, win and lead.” he said.

He noted that his political journey had shown young people that they could achieve their aspirations irrespective of how long the process might take.

The NDC candidate said he was committed to and other residents of Askira-Uba and Hawul to promote what he described as a better future and a new era for the constituency.

He also said his campaign would be anchored on progressive ideas, vision, courage and a commitment to public service.

He dedicated his ticket to God, the people of Askira-Uba and Hawul Federal Constituency and youths across the country.

He urged young people to believe in their capacity to participate in governance and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.
