“Women will be in labour, yet male nurses are denied access to labour wards” – Nigerian nurse questions discrimination

A Nigerian male nurse has questioned why male nurses are prevented from coming into labour wards in some hospitals whereas male medical doctors are allowed to take care of ladies throughout childbirth.
In a video shared on-line, he expressed frustration over the apply, claiming that even male nursing interns are denied entry to labour wards regardless of needing sensible expertise.
“A woman will be in labour, and male nurses will be stopped from entering the labour ward. But when the woman cannot give birth, they will come and call one HO or MO,” he mentioned.
He criticised senior nurses and hospital directors who implement such restrictions, arguing that they intervene with the scientific coaching of male nurses.
The nurse urged his male colleagues to familiarise themselves with the insurance policies of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and problem restrictions that contradict their skilled coaching necessities.
