Why Tinubu govt would've detained Peter Obi till after election – Pat Utomi
Professor of Political Economy, Pat Utomi, has claimed that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration would have arrested and jailed the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, if it had discovered any proof of wrongdoing towards him.
Utomi made the declare in a put up on his official X deal with on Wednesday, insisting that the previous Anambra State governor has no skeletons in his cabinet.
He argued that if Obi have been corrupt like different politicians, the APC-led authorities would have used the chance to silence him by maintaining him behind bars till after the January 16 election.
“I’ve said this many times, if Peter Obi had any skeletons in his cupboard or was corrupt like many other politicians, this APC-led administration would have seized the opportunity to arrest him, lock him up and keep him behind bars until after the election, especially as an opposition figure,” he mentioned.
“They know that, no matter how hard they try, there is no credible wrongdoing they can pin on him.
“They can’t discover the form of dust they’re accustomed to utilizing towards politicians, and that’s what makes him a serious menace to their corrupt institution,” he added.
