Social critic, Scott Iguma calls out Lagos Commissioner of Transportation over dilapidating Lekki-Epe expressroad six months after it was fixed (video)
Social critic Scott Iguma has called out the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation,Oluwaseun Osiyemi, over the rapid deterioration of the recently rehabilitatedLekki-Epe Expressway.
The criticism follows a viral video shared by an Island resident showing that several sections of the major highway have already washed off, barely six months after being reopened to motorists.
The Lagos State Government had previously embarked on a phased rehabilitation of the critical corridor to ease the daily commute for thousands of Island residents. However, the newly surfaced portions—particularly around the Ikota Shopping Complex axis—have reportedly given way, leaving behind severe potholes and broken asphalt.
Reacting to the viral footage, Iguma expressed disappointment in the state’s transport leadership, accusing the ministry of executing a rushed, substandard job, and alleging that the hurried nature of the repairs has caused the expressway to rapidly revert to its previous deplorable state.
