Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to human capital development, particularly the education, protection and empowerment of vulnerable children.
Sanwo-Olu stated this at the commissioning of the permanent home of Dream Catchers Academy, an initiative set up to shelter, educate and empower vulnerable girls.
The governor was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Bolaji Ogunlende, who described the new facility as a significant social intervention that would complement the government’s investment in physical infrastructure by expanding opportunities for vulnerable young people.
Ogunlende said the governor was unable to attend the ceremony personally because of an emergency engagement but directed him to represent him and convey his warm regards and appreciation to the academy, its founder, Ms Seyi, partners, donors and supporters.
Sanwo-Olu said the story of Dream Catchers Academy demonstrated that “impossible is nothing”, noting that determination, compassion and support could transform what began as an individual vision into an initiative capable of changing lives.
