Recruitment: No date yet for pending CBT – FCSC

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has said it has not fixed a date for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) component of its pending recruitment exercise.

The commission, in a statement issued on Monday by its Head of Press and Public Relations, Ibraheem Zakariyya, said the recruitment exercise had not been abandoned, assuring applicants that it would be concluded once the necessary resources were made available.

The clarification followed growing concerns and questions from applicants and members of the public over the delay in concluding the exercise, particularly the shortlisting of candidates and conduct of the outstanding CBT.

The Commission said its Chairman, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, was aware of the concerns and anxiety among applicants, adding that efforts were ongoing to conclude the process as soon as the resources required for the remaining stages were released.

According to the statement, shortlisted candidates would be assigned to appropriate states for the CBT once the necessary arrangements and resources were in place.

“Applicants should therefore remain patient and rely only on official information from the Commission regarding the next stage of the process,” it said.

The FCSC warned applicants against relying on information circulating on unofficial social media platforms or claims by individuals purporting to have inside information about the recruitment exercise.

It said the official date, venues, modalities and other details of the CBT would be communicated through its authorised communication channels after the necessary arrangements had been concluded.

The Commission also reaffirmed its commitment to conducting the recruitment exercise in a credible, transparent and merit-based manner, in line with applicable rules and procedures governing the Federal Civil Service.

It acknowledged the importance of employment opportunities to Nigerian youths and the expectations surrounding the recruitment exercise, while appealing to applicants to remain patient and continue monitoring its official platforms for authentic updates.

“The recruitment exercise has not been forgotten. The Commission remains committed to its completion once the required resources are made available,” the statement added.
