The Progressive Students Movement (PSM) Nigeria chapter has commended the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, ASN Harris Adamu Musa, over his recognition at a national awards ceremony.

Musa was among 274 NDLEA personnel recognised for their contributions to the fight against illicit drugs and substance abuse in Nigeria.

The awards were presented by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Marwa (retd.), at the 12th Chairman/Chief Executive Officer’s Commendations and Awards ceremony in Abuja.

In a statement, the National Director of Welfare and Political Engagement of PSM, Comrade Awesu Fawaz, described the recognition of Musa as deserving.

Fawaz said the award should further encourage personnel of the agency to sustain their efforts in combating drug abuse and trafficking.

“We consider this national honour bestowed on ASN Harris Adamu Musa as well deserved and another challenge on the need to keep doing more for national development,” he said.

The student body also commended the NDLEA leadership for what it described as its efforts to strengthen the agency’s operations.

It praised the Ogun State Command under Commander Tijani Rabe, citing recent drug enforcement operations in the South-West.

PSM specifically noted reported operations against drug trafficking networks in Ogun and Oyo states and along the Togo-Benin Republic-Nigeria corridor.

Fawaz urged youths and students to support campaigns against drug abuse and make responsible choices.

He said, “We urge youth and student groups to join in propagating the good works of the NDLEA by saying no to drugs and yes to life.”

The group further urged NDLEA personnel to remain committed to their duties, saying the recognition should serve as motivation for greater professionalism and service to the country.

PSM congratulated Musa on the award and wished him continued success in his service to Nigeria.
