Police rescue Sarkin Noman Kano from gunmen

The Kano state Police Command has announced the rescue of the Sarkin Noman Kano, Yusuf Nadabo Chiromawa from gunmen in Chiromawa community, Kano.

The gunmen allegedly killed three persons and injured five when they attacked the village midnight on Saturday and went to the Sarkin Noman Kano’s residence to abduct him.

The attempted abduction was earlier on Sunday morning confirmed by the chairman of Garun Malam local government area, Aminu Salisu Kadawa.

However, the Kano Police Command announced that it foiled the kidnap attempt in Chiromawa, Garun Mallam local government area of Kano state.

This was confirmed to newsmen on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Haruna Kiyawa, who stated that the Police have successfully foiled the kidnap attempt by gunmen.

“On 29th August 2026 at about 2330hrs, a distress report was received, that some miscreants suspected to be bandits stormed Garun Mallam town and started shooting sporadically in the air.

“In the process, the hoodlums abducted Alhaji Yusif Nadabo, the Sarkin Noman Kano, and in the course of the attack, shot and injured five persons, Yusif Nasiru, 20, Salisu Garba, 20, and Ibrahim Hassan, 20, all of Garun Mallam,” he stated.

He further stated that the police, in collaboration with members of the community, gave the hoodlums a hot chase.

Consequently, the bandits abandoned the kidnap victim and fled.
