A Plateau State-based social critic and advocate, Emmanuel Jelan, has written an open letter to Governor Caleb Mutfwang over communities allegedly seized and forgetfully occupied by Fulani terrorists in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state.

In the letter, Jelan, who said he is from the Bokkos LGA, stated that despite denials by the government and Fulani groups claiming there are no communities that are being occupied by terrorists, available records show that about 16 rural communities have been annexed either completely or partially by terrorists.

Jelan called on the Mutfwang administration to set up a high-powered committee to investigate his claims of displacement of ancestral lands by Fulani bandits.

“For the records and for the attention of the Government of Plateau State and other relevant stakeholders (just in case they are unaware), here is a list of some displaced villages in Mushere District of Bokkos LGA as at 15th of July 2026 and their displacement status,” the advocate wrote.

He went on to list the occupied communities as follows;

Hok — Complete displacement

Luwapan — Complete displacement

Fokoldep — Complete displacement

Kadim Bisa (Nawula) — Complete displacement

Njemut — Complete displacement

Dulu — Complete displacement

Diu — Complete displacement

Nina — Complete displacement

Mbor — Complete displacement

Dimar — Partial displacement

Margif — Partial displacement

Rwam — Complete displacement

Kopmur — Complete displacement

Njin — Partial displacement

Kaban — Partial displacement

Jinak — Complete displacement.

Continuing, Jelan said:

“In most of these villages, the villagers no longer have access to their houses and farmlands for fear of their lives. Schools, hospitals, and worship places have all been shut down.

“Meanwhile, reports by locals allege that some strangers have started occupying some of the villages, living in the abandoned houses, rearing cattle on abandoned farmlands. This is disturbing and calls for immediate action.”
