Osun government assures electorate of adequate for August 15 2026 governorship election

The Osun state Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Hon. George Ibitayo Alabi, on Friday assured electorate that adequate security arrangements will be put in place to protect voters and ensure a peaceful electoral process during August 15, 2026 governorship election

Hon. Alabi gave the assurance while addressing Accord party members in Ejigbo Local Government Area (LGA) at the party’s general meeting in Ejigbo during which he donated ₦1.1 million to support the party.

The Commissioner and Accord leader in Ejigbo LGA, called on Accord members and supporters to turn out en masse on election day and cast their votes for the incumbent Governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

He noted that the people of Ejigbo and other parts of Osun state should not entertain any fear, as the election would be conducted in a peaceful and orderly atmosphere, and that the electoral process is expected to proceed without hitch, and that there should be no apprehension about violence or bloodshed during the exercise.

Urging eligible voters to come out peacefully, exercise their civic responsibility and return to their homes after casting their votes, the Commissioner called on party members to remain united, peaceful and committed as the election approaches, adding that the collective responsibility of the party members is to mobilise voters and ensure a strong turnout for Governor Ademola Adeleke.

While reiterating his confidence in a peaceful election, he appealed to all stakeholders, political parties and voters to uphold peace, respect the electoral process and allow the people to freely exercise their democratic rights,he lauded the generosity and commitment of notable politicians and party leaders in Ejigbo local government area, describing their contributions to the development of the people and the political process as worthy of recognition.
