The Ogun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has convened an interfaith prayer concert in Abeokuta to commit its political preparations and ambitions for the 2027 general elections into the hands of God.

Speaking at the event held at the Arcade ground of the Ake Palace, Abeokuta, the party gubernatorial candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, declared that the party would secure victory in 2027 without a serious contest, attributing his optimism to divine intervention.

Adeola, who currently represents Ogun West Senatorial District and is seeking to succeed Governor Dapo Abiodun, expressed confidence that God would clear the path for the APC ahead of the governorship election.

”That same God that will give us victory on January 16 will also support me to become the seventh Executive Governor of Ogun State.

“God will give us victory and clear our path without a fight because there will be nobody contesting against us.

“God has started that already. They are running helter-skelter now to perfect their own, but God has spoken that He’s going to give us victory without a fight”, Adeola said.

He also expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would retain the presidency, while APC candidates seeking National Assembly seats in Ogun state would emerge victorious.

Also addressing the gathering, Governor Dapo Abiodun highlighted the significance of seeking divine guidance for the party’s 2027 electoral goals.

Recalling his own political hurdles during the 2019 governorship race, Abiodun emphasized how those experiences strengthened his belief in God’s backing.

”We have gathered here to seek the Almighty’s face and commit our journey of 2027 into His hands.

“I recalled how the journey was in 2018. When we started, it was not like this at all. It was tough. But God has used me as a testimony. God of 2018 is still around, and He will continue to allow us to embark on a smooth transition from a sitting governor to the incoming governor”, he added.

Meanwhile, in his sermon, Pastor Johnson Kalejaiye, the Regional Evangelist of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), prayed for a peaceful electoral process and declared that divine intervention would clear the coast for the party.

He also admonished all political actors and their supporters to refrain from hate speech, campaigns of calumny, and acts capable of inciting violence during the election season.

The prayer session was well attended by APC leaders, party faithful, and supporters as the ruling party intensifies its momentum ahead of the 2027 political cycle.
