Mother, baby die as two container vans overturn in Lagos

A mom and her baby have died after two container vans overturned at Mile 2, close to Freeman Market, inward Apapa, Lagos.
Confirming the accident to newsmen, the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, stated its rescue and restoration groups responded to the scene to evacuate the victims and clear the wreckage.
Bakare-Oki stated it quickly cordoned off the affected street and diverted visitors by an adjoining service lane to forestall additional accidents and ease congestion.
LASTMA deployed a crane and a high-capacity tow automobile to take away the overturned vans and their cargoes, whereas cops supplied safety throughout the operation.
He added that the stays of the victims have been later taken to the police mortuary in Yaba for crucial procedures.
