Kogi: Ododo deepens APC reconciliation ahead of 2027

Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has continued his engagements with critical stakeholders and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, as part of efforts to strengthen unity within the party and build a common front ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A statement on Thursday by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, said the governor paid a courtesy visit to Prince Mohammed Audu, son of the late former governor of Kogi state, Prince Abubakar Audu, in continuation of his ongoing peace-building and reconciliation efforts among stakeholders across the state.

The statement further read, “The meeting provided an opportunity for the Governor and Prince Mohammed Audu to discuss issues of development in Kogi state, party unity and the importance of working together to advance the interests of the state and the APC.

“Governor Ododo has in recent times been meeting with key stakeholders across the state, seeking to bring leaders and various tendencies within the party together towards a common political and developmental agenda.

“The engagements are also aimed at mobilising broad-based support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as well as the APC and its candidates in Kogi state ahead of the 2027 elections.

“The governor and Prince Mohammed Audu further discussed the need to continue strengthening the APC at all levels and sustaining the unity required for the party to remain a dominant force in the political landscape of Kogi state.

“Prince Mohammed Audu thanked Governor Ododo for the visit, describing the engagement as an important step towards greater cooperation among stakeholders.

“He expressed his willingness to work closely with the governor to attract development to Kogi state and contribute to efforts aimed at strengthening the APC and ensuring victory for the party in the 2027 elections.

“The meeting forms part of Governor Ododo’s broader consultations with political leaders, stakeholders and influential members of the APC, with the objective of fostering understanding, strengthening relationships and creating a united political platform for the development of Kogi state,” the statement said.
