Two Igbo elite groups, Ogbako Ndigbo Nile Worldwide (ONN), led by Chief John Nwobodo and Igbo Leadership Development Foundation (ILDF) led by Dr. Godwin Udibe, have struck a joint initiative to host an Igbo townhall meeting to interface with the Nigeria’s 2027 presidential candidates.

According to the organisers, the epocmaking event would take place on October 5, 2026 at the International Conference Centre, (ICC), Enugu.

The gathering will bring together Igbos of the five South East states and Igbos from Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Rivers, Benue and Kogi states.

The townhall meeting will provide a two-way flow of interaction between Ndigbo and the contenders for the highest office in the land.

In anticipation of the event, the two Igbo organisations have constituted a joint expert committee to articulate the minimum demands of Ndigbo and expectations for 2027.

The presidential hopefuls are expected to use the event to showcase their manifestos and programmes for Ndigbo and the entire Nigeria.
