Kaduna: Uba Sani appoints new commissioners, board chairmen, aide

Kaduna state hovernor, Senator Uba Sani, has approved the appointment of new commissioners, board chairmen and a Deputy Chief of Staff as part of measures to strengthen the state’s administration and accelerate the implementation of his transformational agenda.

The appointments, which cut across key sectors and strategic government institutions, are expected to inject fresh ideas and professional expertise into the administration while enhancing public service delivery and institutional effectiveness. Blueprint.ng reports

According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibraheem Musa, the latest appointments were made as part of the administration’s efforts to deepen institutional reforms and foster sustainable economic growth in Kaduna State.

New commissioners, Deputy Chief of Staff

Among those appointed are Ben Kure, who has been named Commissioner for Sports Development; Amina Akilu Dalhat, Commissioner for Special Duties I; and Abdullahi Garba Abbas, Commissioner for Special Duties II.

The governor also appointed Dr. Halliru Soba as Deputy Chief of Staff, Administration.

The appointments are expected to strengthen the government’s executive team and enhance coordination in the implementation of policies and programmes across various sectors of the state.

With the appointment of Kure as Commissioner for Sports Development, the sports sector is expected to receive renewed attention as the government continues to pursue policies aimed at improving youth development and harnessing opportunities within the sector.

New leadership for key boards

Governor Sani also approved the appointment of new chairmen for several important boards and agencies responsible for the delivery and management of critical services across Kaduna state.

Alhaji Munir Jafaru was appointed Chairman of the Kaduna State Health Care Board, while AVM Bashir Gamagira Saidu will serve as Chairman of the Kaduna Vigilance Service Board.

The governor also appointed retired Justice Gideon Isa Kurada as Chairman of the College of Education, Gidan Waya.

Other appointments include Esther Bago as Chairman of the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development; Dr. Yusuf Aliyu Bature as Chairman of the Kaduna Hospital Supply Management Agency; and Engr. Namadi Musa as Chairman of the Kaduna Rural Access Roads Authority.

The appointments place experienced professionals and public figures at the helm of institutions with responsibilities spanning healthcare, security, education, skills development, medical supplies and rural infrastructure.

Appointments to strengthen service delivery

The state government said the appointments were designed to accelerate the administration’s transformational agenda while optimising public service delivery and creating the institutional framework required for sustainable economic growth.

The new board leadership is also expected to provide strategic direction to the affected agencies and institutions and ensure that their activities remain aligned with the broader development objectives of the state government.

The appointments come as the administration continues to emphasise institutional reforms and the effective implementation of government policies as key components of its development strategy.

Sani tasks appointees on fresh ideas

Congratulating the new appointees, Governor Sani said their selection was based on their proven track records of excellence, integrity and dedication.

He urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by bringing fresh perspectives to their respective assignments and approaching their responsibilities with renewed commitment.

The governor cautioned the appointees against complacency, charging them to work in line with his administration’s vision of building a transformed and resilient Kaduna State.

He further urged them to ensure that their respective offices contribute meaningfully to the overall development of the state and improve the quality of services available to citizens.

Sani said the appointees must align completely with the vision and objectives of his administration, stressing the importance of dedication and effective performance in delivering on the government’s promises.

He expressed confidence that the new commissioners, board chairmen and Deputy Chief of Staff would bring their experience and expertise to bear in advancing the state’s development agenda.
