INEC Warns Nigerians Against Fake Voter Registration Website
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has alerted the public to a fraudulent website falsely claiming that a nationwide online voter registration exercise is currently underway.
In a public notice issued on Saturday, the commission identified the site pvc-inecnigeria-org.blogspot.com as having no connection to INEC.
The platform purportedly announced a registration window running from September 28 to October 27, 2026.
INEC stressed that the actual voter registration exercise ended on July 26, 2026, and any claims of a new nationwide online process are false.
The commission strongly advised Nigerians not to click the link or submit personal details, warning that doing so could expose sensitive data to harvesting or misuse.
The fake site advertises a “Final Phase of Nationwide Online Voter Card Registration,” offering services such as updating registration details, transferring to another polling unit, and replacing damaged or lost Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
It also falsely claims these services and PVC delivery are free.INEC urged the public to stay vigilant and confirm all electoral information only through its official communication channels.
