I’ll make Enugu East rise again if… — PDP candidate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), senatorial candidate for Enugu East in the 2027 election, Chief kingsley Chizoba Nweke, has said when elected, he would lay the foundation that would help his zone rise again from the ashes of poor representation.

According to Nweke, a lot of things had gone wrong in his district and they needed to be corrected.

Nweke said this in Enugu on Monday at a world press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Enugu.

The senatorial hopeful said time had come to change the status quo and give his people the needed representation that would liberate them from poverty and stagnation.

He noted that the era of appointing or anointing people into elective positions was over.

He said this time around, it would no longer be automatic for a single person to celebrate his election but the entire senatorial district should be proud of their representative from the zone.

Nweke who is popularly known as ‘Odaa Opua’, a philanthropist and youth mobiliser, said that he had the capacity to give the people good representation, adding that youth empowerment was his preoccupation, having been sponsoring youth sports and giving empowerment to women and the youth.

The founder of Bolu Ogbe, Abakpa Peace Carnival, Coal Camp Carnival/Youth Empowerment, said when elected, he would see that the youth were uplifted and given a place in the society.

He said that he was on a mission to rescue his people from bad representation in government.

“Time is now to get it right in Enugu East. Time is now to make corrections of all the mistakes that have been made in the past. A lot of things have gone wrong when it comes to Enugu East senatorial zone,” he said.
