If You Bring Another Person From The South, The North Will Be Reluctant To Vote For Him -Kenneth Okonkwo
Kenneth Okonkwo, spokesperson for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has alleged that the North will be deeply reluctant to support any southern presidential candidate in 2027 other than President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on Channels TV, Okonkwo said, “Now that we are in a situation where Tinubu has done four years. Let me tell you, if you bring another person from the south, the north will be very reluctant to vote for that person, because the north will believe that person will do eight years, meaning power will have stayed in the south for twelve years in total,” he said.
Okonkwo argued that any meaningful disruption to the current political order requires a candidate from the North, accompanied by a clear agreement to serve only four years so that power does not remain concentrated in one region for an extended period.
He also pushed back against the suggestion that Atiku Abubakar is seeking to undermine the zoning arrangement. He argued that it was not northerners who originated the pattern of interrupting a region’s full eight-year tenure in power…….See More
