Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani mentioned on Saturday that cybercriminals had shared his private knowledge on the darkish net, saying he believed he was being focused due to Italy’s help for Ukraine.
“For several days, cybercriminals have been spreading my personal data on the dark web and seeking to obtain further information, exposing me to new threats and intimidation,” Tajani wrote on X.
He attributed the focusing on to Italy’s stance on Ukraine, which he described as a defence of the nation’s sovereignty, democracy and independence.
“I will not allow myself to be intimidated under any circumstances,” he mentioned. Italy has offered humanitarian and army help to Kyiv as Ukraine defends itself towards Russia’s invasion.
