Group protest alleged plot to replace Adamawa ADC governorship candidate

The internal wrangling rocking Adamawa state chapter of the African Democratic Congr$ess ( ADC),   has taken a new dimension on Wednesday, as  party supporters under the auspices of ADC Christians Forum  staged a peaceful protest  kicking against the ongoing efforts by some party leaders to have the party gubernatorial candidate Amb. Omar Sulaiman replaced ahead of 2027 election.

The protesters who trooped in to the street in their large number carrying placards with different inscriptions and messages of solidarity to the party candidate, went round the state capital and ended their protest at the ADC state secretariat Yola.

Addressing the mamoth crowd  at the state party secretariat, Modu Umar who spoke onbehalf of the protesters, said  they were at the party secretariat to register their grievance over alleged plot to replace a duly elected governorship candidate.

He accussed the state acting  party chairman, Barrister Sadiq Dasin, and other party officials of collecting money from the ruling party and other enemies of progress  to destabilise the party in the state in order to   prevent the party from taking over the state and the country in 2027.

They warned the  party leaders at both the state and the national level, especially the national headquarters of the party against any attempt to change the party gubernatorial candidate Amb. Omar sulaiman.

 whom they elected at a validly conducted primaries as the party flagbearer stressing that,anything short of having him as the party candidate in the state, will spell doom and disaster to the party.

Modu further called on the former vice president Atiku Abubakar, who is also the party’s presidential candidate to as a matter of urgency intervened  to salvaged the party in the state.

Also speaking, Mrs. Damaris Yalawa, said  their decision to come out to the street on a peaceful protest was to show their support and solidarity to the party candidate.
