Governor Alia inaugurates Renewed Hope Youth Engagement, urges team to mobilise votes for Tinubu

Benue state governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia has inaugurated the State Executive Committee of the Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE), with a charge to mobilise youths at the grassroots for active participation in governance and to vote massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

Alia, who spoke through his deputy, Dr. Sam Ode, during the inauguration on Friday in Makurdi, said young people were not only leaders of tomorrow but “critical partners in building Nigeria today.”

He urged the youth to participate actively in politics but warned them against violence, hate speech, intimidation, misinformation, and other forms of political extremism.

The governor tasked the RHYE leadership to build an inclusive and results-driven structure that would reach communities, markets, religious institutions, and young people across the state.
In his remarks, the National Coordinator of RHYE, Abdurazez Abubakar Kaka, said the initiative was aimed at ensuring that young people were active contributors to development, rather than being mere beneficiaries.

Kaka, alongside representatives of the City Boy Movement and Obidient Movement, pledged to mobilise youths across Benue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Alia in the 2027 elections.

The Benue state coordinator, Fidelis Unongo, said the youth had resolved to support the Tinubu administration because of what he described as its “various programmes aimed at empowering young Nigerians.”

He cited the student loan scheme, the 3 Million Technical Talent programme and other youth-oriented initiatives as evidence of the federal government’s commitment to creating opportunities for young people.

The APC chairman in the state, Benjamin Omale, urged party members and support groups to strengthen grassroots structures, obtain their permanent voter cards (PVCs) and work together to secure victory for the party in 2027.
