Ex-Rep. TeeJay Yusuf Commends Security Forces Over Rescue Of Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren

A former member of the House of Representatives, TeeJay Yusuf, has commended the nation’s security forces for securing the release of the schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oyo State after spending 56 days in captivity.

Yusuf, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), conveyed the commendation in a statement on Saturday, describing the victims’ rescue as a major relief for their families and the nation.

The former three-term lawmaker from Kogi State, praised the security operatives for what he described as a courageous and professional operation.

“I warmly commend our gallant security forces for the successful rescue of the Oyo schoolchildren and their teachers after more than 50 days in the captivity of their abductors,” Yusuf said.

“Their safe return is a profound relief to their families and to all Nigerians who have kept them in their thoughts and prayers throughout this difficult period.”

He said the successful operation demonstrates the courage, professionalism, resilience and unwavering commitment of security personnel in protecting the country.

Yusuf, however, urged the government and security agencies to sustain efforts to tackle the growing menace of kidnapping and other violent crimes across Nigeria.
