The APC primary elections may have been done and dusted, but not without some challenges of disregard to electoral Act and party constitution as petitioned by some agrieved candidates of the party.
At the end of it all, some candidates celebrated victory while others petitioned the primary review committees to look into grievances of some candidates across the country.
In Yobe state, the situation however took a different twist as former Director general of NEMA and one of the frontline gubernatorial candidates of the APC in the Yobe state, Engr. Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja Tafidan Nguru, who also doubles as the former director, campaign planning Asiwaju-Kashim 2023 presidential campaigns council is challenging the outcome of the governorship primaries at the Federal high court in Damaturu.
The Federal High Court sitting in Damaturu has continued to cross-examine witnesses on the APC Governorship Primary Election Petition held on the May 21, 2026 in Yobe state, filed by Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja.
Presiding the sitting, Justice Fatima Murtala Amin highlighted the role of judiciary in promoting fair hearing and establishment of justice.
The 4, 5, 6 and 7 witnesses were cross examined during the sitting.
The case is about the alleged irregularities that accompanied the gubernatorial primary election conducted on May 21, 2026 under APC in Yobe state.
